Wednesday Night Salsa
6:30pm @ Dance Zone, 1113 Lincoln Ave, Marquette
Wednesday Lessons and Social dancing are free, donations welcome. No partner required for any of our classes as we rotate partners throughout the class. Social Dancing styles vary by week of the month. See the schedule below in our calendar. During the summer months the class will be held outdoors, weather permitting. Weekly Social Dancing Styles:
- 1st week: Salsa
- 2nd week: East Coast Swing/Lindyhop
- 3rd week: West Coast Swing
- 4th week: Ballroom
- 5th week: Mixed Styles
Winter Whirl
2:00pm - 5:00pm @ Ore Dock Brewing Co.
The Winter Whirl is our annual winter semi-formal dance which includes a brief dance lesson and snacks. It is a free event, and donations are welcome. Thursday Night Ballroom Dancing
6:00pm @ NMU PEIF Dance Studio #130
"Smooth Dancing" is taught by Michael Pollock. This class will focus on the basics of ballroom style dancing (Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz, and Argentine Tango) and includes instruction on the frame, movement, and timing of each dance style. Partners are not required, and no experience is necessary.

Thursday Night Salsa Rueda de Casino
8:00pm @ NMU PEIF Dance Studio #130
"Salsa (Rueda)" taught by Melinda Loubser. This is a friendly introduction to social dance that challenges your musicality and your feet! Salsa is a vibrant Latin dance that can be done individually, in pairs, or as in Salsa Rueda de Casino (constantly switching pairs arranged in a circle). In this class you will learn the rhythm and steps of Salsa individually and then move on to Salsa Rueda. Please note, this class will involve some physical contact (hand to hand, hand to back) between participants and partners will be rotated. Partners are not required, and no experience is necessary.
